How can we help?
Setup guides, activation help, billing answers, and fixes for common issues.
Getting started
Add Lemon Mouse Mover to Chrome in about a minute.
Install the Chrome extension
The Chrome extension works in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers, and is ideal for Chromebooks or when you can't install desktop software.
- Go to lemonmousemover.com/chrome and click through to the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
- Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin Lemon Mouse Mover so it's always visible.
- Click the icon and press the power button to start.
Activation & licenses
Unlocking the full version after you subscribe.
Where do I find my activation key?
Your activation key is generated as soon as your subscription is active. There are two places to find it:
- Your subscription email — sent right after checkout, with the key included.
- Your account page — sign in at lemonmousemover.com/account and it's shown under "Activation key" (with a Copy button).
A key looks like ABCD-1234-EFGH-5678 — 16 characters in four groups. It works on every device covered by your subscription.
How to activate the extension
- Click the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar and open the Account tab.
- Under "Have an activation key?", paste your key.
- Click Activate. You'll unlock immediately.
Chrome updates extensions automatically. If you don't see the key field, open chrome://extensions and check that Lemon Mouse Mover is up to date.
I subscribed but the extension says "No active subscription"
Almost always, this means the extension is signed in with a different email than the one used at checkout — for example a work address versus a personal one, or a small typo.
Fastest fix
Use your activation key, which unlocks the extension regardless of which email is signed in:
- Sign in at lemonmousemover.com/account with the email you checked out with, and copy your activation key.
- In the extension, go to Account → Have an activation key?, paste it, and click Activate.
Still stuck?
Contact us at lemonmousemover.com/support with the email you used at checkout, and we'll straighten it out.
How many devices does one subscription cover?
One subscription covers all your devices that run Chrome. There's no per-device charge.
Use the same activation key (or sign in with the same account) everywhere.
How does the free trial work?
Every new account gets a 3-day free trial with full functionality — no credit card required. The countdown starts when you first start the extension, and remaining days are shown on the Account tab.
When the trial ends, the extension stops until you subscribe. Nothing is charged automatically, and nothing is deleted.
Account & billing
Subscriptions, payments, passwords and cancellation.
Plans and pricing
- Monthly — $8.99 per month.
- Annual — $80 per year (about 26% cheaper than monthly).
Both plans include all features and automatic updates. You can switch or cancel at any time.
Reset your password
- Go to lemonmousemover.com/account and click Forgot password?
- Enter your email and submit — we'll send a reset link.
- Open the link (it's valid for 1 hour) and choose a new password.
Don't see the email? Check your spam folder, and make sure you used the same address you signed up with. For security, we always show the same confirmation whether or not an account exists.
Update your payment method or cancel
- Sign in at lemonmousemover.com/account.
- Click Manage plan & billing — this opens your secure billing portal.
- From there you can update your card, view invoices, switch plans, or cancel.
If you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for. We never charge a cancellation fee.
Refunds
If the extension isn't working for you, please contact support first — most issues are quick to fix. If you'd still like a refund, get in touch and we'll take care of you.
The 3-day free trial exists so you can confirm it fits your setup before paying anything.
Using the extension
Day-to-day controls and settings.
Start and stop the extension
Click the extension icon in your toolbar and press the power button. Press it again to pause.
While it's running you'll see the elapsed time, so you always know it's on.
The Away Brief: see what you missed
While the extension is running, it notes the notifications your open web apps show. When you come back, the Brief tab shows a summary of what you missed, grouped by app and newest first. Click Done to clear it.
It catches notifications from web apps open in your tabs (like Slack, Gmail or Teams on the web) and new unread counts in tab titles.
The brief is stored only in your browser and is never uploaded.
Insights: how hours saved are counted
The Insights tab in the extension popup totals the time Lemon Mouse Mover has kept you active. You'll see:
- Hours saved, your total since you started using LMM.
- Last 7 days, a bar for each day, with today highlighted.
- Sessions, Away covered (the part of that time you were actually away from the keyboard), and your streak of days in a row.
It's calculated in your browser, so it works offline.
Choose how often it nudges
Use the interval control in the extension popup to set how often it nudges. Shorter intervals keep your status more reliably Active; longer ones are subtler.
Timing is randomized around the interval you pick, so it never settles into a fixed pattern. For most people the default is ideal.
Keeping the extension updated
Chrome updates extensions automatically in the background, so you'll always be on the latest version without doing anything.
To update right away, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, and click Update.
Troubleshooting
Fixes for the issues we see most.
It doesn't seem to be doing anything
Work through these in order:
- Is it actually on? Open the popup and check that the power button is active and the timer is counting.
- Is your subscription or trial active? The Account tab shows your status. If it's expired, the extension won't run.
- Is the page one extensions can use? Chrome doesn't let extensions run on
chrome://pages or the Chrome Web Store. Switch to a normal tab. - Reload the tab you want to keep active, then press the power button again.
- Restart Chrome if it still isn't responding.
My computer still goes to sleep
The extension keeps your screen awake with a wake lock and by creating activity in your open tabs, but a few things override that:
- Closing your laptop lid always sleeps the machine — nothing running on it can prevent that.
- Battery power — on a laptop the display may still dim or sleep when unplugged. Plug in for long tasks.
- Company device policies can force a screen lock on a timer regardless of activity.
For long jobs, plug in and set your power settings to keep the display awake for best results.
I can't sign in or create an account
"User already exists" when signing up usually means you already have an account — often created automatically when you subscribed. Use Log in instead, or reset your password.
Wrong password? Use Forgot password? on the sign-in page to get a reset link.
Not sure which email? Check the receipt from your purchase — that's the address your subscription is under.
You can also skip signing in entirely by activating with your key, on the Account tab of the extension.
How it works
What the extension does under the hood.
What does Lemon Mouse Mover actually do?
It creates tiny, human-like cursor movements in your open tabs at a randomized interval, and holds a screen wake lock so your display stays on. Web apps that watch for idle time see that activity, which keeps your status Active.
That keeps long downloads, renders, installs and presentations running instead of getting cut short by an idle session.
Will it interfere with my work?
No. The movements are tiny and happen inside your open tabs, so they won't disturb what you're doing. The moment you use the mouse yourself, your input takes over.
You can also pause it any time with the power button.
Is it safe? What about my privacy?
The extension doesn't record keystrokes or capture your screen. To keep your tabs active it asks Chrome for permission to run on the pages you visit, and to build your Away Brief it reads the text of notifications from your open web apps. That brief stays in your browser and is never uploaded.
See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Software vs. a hardware mouse jiggler
Hardware jigglers are USB dongles or motorized pads that physically move your mouse. They cost more, occupy a port or desk space, can't be scheduled or tuned, and a moving mouse is quite visible.
An extension is cheaper, invisible on your desk, adjustable, and works on every device you own with one subscription.
